Style...

Photography has no bounds. What is meant is that photographers can be hired without any regards to their home base. Being able to cover a London Wedding Photojournalism is only a quick flight away. I have been fortunate enough to cover events on different continents. All of my clients are given top rated service regardless of their location. My philosophy is, “a job worth doing is one worth doing well!"

Destination wedding photojournalism is something that I relish because it gives me an opportunity to travel and experience the art of photography from a different perspective. Weather you are planning a UK Wedding extravaganza or event in any other parts of the world; we are at your service

Wedding Photojournalism is a unique field of expertise, regardless of ones geographical location. Be it in Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio, Texas, New York, Nigeria, Lagos, Abuja, Ghana, Georgia, Port Harcourt, Kanu, Sokoto, Jos, North Carolina, South Carolina or Mississippi, each bride wants a Wedding Photojournalists who will capture her special day as the day unfolds. Not all Wedding Photographers are able to capture your wedding photography in a unique and creative manner. I have covered many events in many different locations and countries. The most singular commonality with all of the brides with whom I have worked is their love and passion for authentic and creative work of art. As a wedding photojournalist, I put my skills and experience to work for all events I cover.

One of the biggest question people ask, is your style wedding photojournalism or traditional photography. It is a very good question but one that can be somewhat misleading. What is wedding photojournalism anyway? That phrase has been around for a long time, probably longer than most photographer ever even thought of labeling themselves as such.

With that said, you should always be careful not to let the definitions of wedding photojournalism vs. traditional photography hamper your decision in getting great images. Use it as a tool so when you see a photographer’s work you can decide if you like the style. You should already know the kind of work that you are looking for so that you will know it when you actually see it. It is a very bad idea to hire a photographer whose idea of photojournalism differs from yours.

Here is a little trick that creates a unique and creative image. I tricked the camera regarding the type of film I was using, a process called pushing film or pulling film. In this case, the camera is being fooled to think that the film used is a slower film than the speed of film that is actually being used. Simply put, say ISO 400 film is in the camera, camera was set to ISO 200. Thus the camera will expose the film longer so anything that is moving will have a trail or a ghost. It's a simple technique that gives great and impressive result.

This image is from one of the wedding I covered while in Nigeria.

This bride is in her traditional attire during her engagement ceremony. Wedding took place in Port Harcourt, Nigeria.

As a photographer, I like to capture events from a distance as it happens. I strive to record the event and not be a part of it. Photojournalist has to be ready to capture the moment, because things worth remembering occur in a blink of an eye. This I feel is one distinct difference between photojournalism and traditional coverage. I try to look for moments to take creative and unique images during an event. I am an historian, only I choose not a pen as my instrument rather a camera. Documenting your day in an artistic and creative way is what separates me from a traditional photographer.

A photojournalist must be equipped with techniques, skills and a fast camera in order to capture events creatively as they happen. Photojournalism is like being a sports photographer because great plays occur when least expected and one must not only be ready but one must be equipped to capture the moment.
